Applications for absentee ballots are available on the Maine secretary of state’s Web site, www.maine.gov/sos/cec/elec, or at local town offices throughout Oxford County. Maine law permits anyone to vote by absentee ballot as a matter of convenience, and students heading off to college are especially encouraged to fill out an application so that their ballot will be mailed to them in a timely fashion.
