AUBURN – The Small Business Institute at Central Maine Community College is offering two seminars in September.

The Basics of Finance for Small Business Owners is targeted for business owners who have little or no experience with financial concepts and statements. The class will teach the core concepts of finance and accounting as it relates to the needs of a small business.

The course runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 7 and 14 and costs $95.

Identifying Your Target Market will provide the tools to determine a product or service relative to the customer base. It focuses on determining the target market, pricing, placement strategies, advertising, promotion, competition and general market research.

It is offered from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 28 and costs $55.
