LEWISTON – Paul Douphinett announces the opening of Douphinett Massage Therapy, at 513 Sabattus St., above Sasseville Chiropractic. He will be providing therapeutic deep tissues and relaxation massage with a specialization in treatment of fibromyalgia.

Douphinett graduated from Central Maine School of Massage Therapy in June 2004. He completed 500 hours of training in the classroom, including 100 hours of clinical practice. He will continue at the school in the fall as an assistant teacher.

He graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Standish with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology in 1980. He spent more than 15 years working for several New England social service agencies, before moving to sales in the late 1990s.

Douphinett decided to investigate a career in massage therapy after going through about six months of massage therapy and chiropractic rehabilitation, following a skiing accident in 2000.

The office hours for Douphinett Massage are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments may be made by phoning 754-8638.
