RUMFORD – Heather Lane and Elizabeth Diane Lane of Rumford were recently selected to participate in Nationals’ 2004 Miss Teen Portland pageant competition on Sept. 5.
Elizabeth submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by Patty Neidert, this year’s Portland pageant coordinator.
The teens will be competing, for a share of more than $20,000 in scholarships, prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants.
There is no cost for participating in the pageant competition. Community businesses, organizations and private individuals will assist the girls in participating in this year’s competition by becoming official sponsors. Through sponsorship, each contestant receives training, rehearsals and financial support.
