After reading the front page story about the dog, Frazier, (Aug. 18), it seems to paint quite the little drama that unfolded concerning an animal that is obviously more suited for the country.

The mere fact of the owner just getting off a 13-hour shift suggests something even further. Was this dog left alone for that period of time? Why didn’t the reporter dig further?

The story makes it sound like everyone is the victim except the dog, Frazier. Granted, they invested in the diet change and animal behaviorist, but were they spending as much time with him over these past few months, or was Frazier left alone with the cats for extended amounts of time? I know a cat’s demise happened, but was it preventable?

It may be this couple was being helpful by adopting Frazier, but the owner didn’t exactly sound like she cared too much, yelling to euthanize the dog on the scene.

Too many tragedies are happening with our domestic animal friends, and if people aren’t willing to accept the responsibility of caring for them like children then they should not waste their time.

Stricter animal laws should be created, period.
