FARMINGTON – Clarissa Allen Danforth, 95, formerly of Litchfield and Farmington, died Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Edgewood Manor in Farmington.

She was born in Bowdoin on November 28, 1908, a daughter of Charles and Clarissa (Hutchinson) Allen.

She is survived by her sons; Ernest, of Farmingdale, Erland, of South China, and Allen, of Farmington; her daughters, Lorraine Shepard, of Randolph, and Evelyn Baker, of Litchfield; her sister, Lila Small, of Brunswick; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Ernest A. Danforth, Sr.; her daughter, Bernita Carey; her sister, Sara Farr; two brothers, Arthur and Raymond Allen; three half-sisters; and also three grandchildren.
