LEWISTON – Betty S. Thompson, 73, a resident of Main Street in Wilton, died Sunday, Aug. 29, at CMMC where she had been a patient for 10 days.

She was born on April 19, 1931, in East Fryeburg, the daughter of Gilbert and Lula Harnden Smith. She was a graduate of Fryeburg Academy.

On Jan. 1, 1973, she married Richard A. Thompson and they made their home in Livermore Falls for many years. Mr. Thompson passed away on April 7.

She was a homemaker all of her life. She was a former member of the Church of the Nazarene in Livermore Falls, the Jay Village Baptist Church and the United Baptist Church in Dryden.

She is survived by a sister, Sylvia Ranger, of East Fryeburg; a brother, Sidney Smith, of Stockbridge, Mass.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Landry, of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Gilbert Duguay, a brother, Arthur Smith, two sisters, Elsie Daggett and Faye Smith.
