RUMFORD – Four new classes and a historical walk are being offered this fall by Western Mountains Senior College. The classes are open to members of any of the Senior College programs. Membership is $25. Course costs are additional, but minimal.

Two four-week classes will be offered as follows:

Myers Briggs with Ellen Crocker from 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays, Sept. 16 and 30 and Oct. 7 and 15, at the Garland Chapel of the West Parish Congregational Church. Cost is $25.

“Born Here, Lived Elsewhere,” from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 16, 23 and 30 and Oct. 7, at the Garland Chapel. Cost $25. Each week members will talk about what it was like living in another country. Walt and Carol Hatch will speak about Holland and England, Ken and Gwyneth Bohr will speak about India, Allen and Jackie Cressy will talk about Germany and Margaret Tibbetts will speak about Africa.

Other classes will be as follows:

Watercolor or sketch with Jo Baker at her studio, 761 Sunday River Road, on Wednesday mornings from Sept. 15 to Oct. 20. Limit of six students. Cost is $35.

Poetry with Bonnie Pooley will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. starting Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the McLaughlin Science Center on Gould’s campus. Cost is $35.

“Now You See It, Now You Don’t: Bethel Hill’s Changing Architecture” walk will be offered along Broad and Church streets by Randy Bennett at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21. Rain date is Sept. 28. Cost is $5.

The college will organize two classes in the Rumford area with the potential for more. Bitsy Ionta will offer a four-to-six-week class on “Basic Hands on Physical Science” and Betsy Welsh will offer a literature class. Details will follow.
