LEWISTON – Bertha Woodsome, 83, of 540 College St., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Montello Manor.

Born Dec. 3, 1920, in Lewiston, the daughter of Henry and Louise (Jolicoeur) Fortier, she had been a resident of this area for all of her life.

She was the widow of Arthur Woodsome, whom she married in 1935, and who died in 1978.

She worked for many years at Montello Manor as a certified nurses’ aide until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Bourbeau, of Auburn and Linda Jasper and her husband, Peter, of Canton; two sons, John and his wife, Joyce, of Buxton and Charles, of New Hampshire; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one brother, Clarence Fortier and his wife, Anita, of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her son, Donald, her sister, Yvonne Couillard, and two brothers, Leo and Elmo Fortier.
