This is in reply to the letter to the editor by Jack McKee and the editorial of Aug. 23. I’m not sure why people are surprised that Republicans have financed an anti-Kerry group. Who else would fund them?
How come no one is in an uproar over George Soros giving $15 million to MoveOn.org and the Media Fund? In case you don’t know, Soros is a Hungarian-born billionaire.
Mr. McKee is upset about the rich getting a tax cut. I guess they don’t pay their fair share. According to the New York Times and the Congressional Budget Office, the top 20 percent of wage earners pay 78 percent of the taxes. How much of the tax burden do the rich have to pay to pay their fair share, 100 percent? This sounds like class envy to me.
