FARMINGTON – Francis B. Corrigan, 89, of Wilton, died Tuesday evening, Aug. 31, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 3, 1914, in Skowhegan, a son of Thomas and Ida May (Barriault) Corrigan. He received his education in local schools, graduating valedictorian of his class in 1934 from Wilton Academy.

On Sept. 16, 1939, he married Carolyn Orr at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilton. She died July 28, 1996.

He was employed at Wilton Woolen Mill and later at Rand and Moore Oil Co. in Livermore Falls. Eventually, he became self-employed and owned Corrigan’s Heating and Service of Wilton.

For many years he was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wilton and later at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Farmington. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and “dumping” his grandkids while waterskiing at the family camp in Monmouth. He and his wife shared many excursions, traveling throughout the United States and Canada. Perhaps their most memorable “trips” were to their grandchildren’s sporting events and theatrical presentations.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Corrigan Jackson and her husband, Willard Jackson, of Lewiston; a son-in-law, John Ellis, of Wilton; five grandchildren, Leisa Chasse and her husband, John, Lauriston “Larry” Jackson and his wife, Dina, Deedra Langelier and her husband, Bert, Randall Francis “Randy” Jackson, and Andrea Cronan and her husband, Jim; nine great-grandchildren, Aaron, Michelle, Jason, Erica, Victoria, Gregory, Mikayla, Katie and Julie; and five nieces and nephews.
