AUBURN – Lillian Lorraine Chick Davis, 78, formerly of Jay, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, at the Clover Manor.

She was born in Riley, July 25, 1926, a daughter of Frederick and Dorothy (Allen) Chick. She was educated in Jay schools, graduating in 1943.

In June of 1944, she married Harold “Happy” Davis, who predeceased her on Jan. 25, 1998.

Mrs. Davis worked at Bass Shoe in Wilton after graduation until moving to Lewiston in 1968, where she worked as a stitcher for Knapp Shoe. She stayed in the Lewiston area until 1977, when they moved to Alfred and she went to work for Sprague Electric and Pratt & Whitney until the time of her retirement in 1990.

In retirement, she and her husband, Happy, traveled to Florida, in winter and spent their summers in Maine. She enjoyed camping, line dancing, knitting, sewing, quilting, biking, and canoeing.

She is survived by a son, Larry “Mike” Davis, of Acton; a daughter, Nancy Davis, of Lewiston; brothers, Charles “Ted” Chick and his wife, Emma “Bill,” of Greensboro, N.C., Albert Chick and his wife, Jeannine, of Newton Falls, N.Y.; a sister, Shirley Dubord and her husband, Joe, of Jay; grandchildren, Martha, Charlee, Tobi, Randy, and Lorraine; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Bailey, Rylee, and Chandler; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents.
