WYOMING, Iowa – Dottie went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 2, as a result of an automobile accident in Wyoming, Iowa.

She was the daughter of Bourdon and the late Janyce Scribner of Harrison. She married Michael Marshall and had two children, Jennifer and Jason. She and Mike’s residence is in Twp. 21 near Princeton, where Mike is a game warden sergeant.

She grew up in Harrison, and graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1974. She later earned a degree from Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute in 1975, and became a licensed practical nurse.

She has worked as a nurse in hospitals in Augusta, Norway, and Calais and in a Houlton nursing home. She served the Lord throughout her life in many ways. For many years, she was a camp nurse and counselor at Baptist Youth Camp in Charlotte and other Christian youth camps. She was a youth group leader and church treasurer at Lake Road Bible Church in Monticello and Princeton Baptist Church. She also was a preschool teacher at Military Street Nursery School in Houlton.

She was a dedicated wife and mother, always putting her Christian service and family first in her life. She also loved fishing, gardening, cooking, sewing, reading, swimming, berry-picking, and working with children. She and Mike served together as foster parents. Recently, she enjoyed preparing her daughter’s wedding at Clifford Lake in July.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Jake Swisher, of Alma, Colo.; son, Jason, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her father, Bourdon Scribner; five brothers, David, Randy, Edwin, Wendall, and Dale Scribner; three sisters, Connie Arnott, Jean Cummings, and Martha Denison; grandmother, Louise Burhoe; her mother and father-in-law are Roger and Nat Marshall, who reside at Bear Pond in Hartford; and sister-in-law, Linda Mitchell.
