BUCKFIELD – Two men were seriously injured Friday night when their ATV and motorcycle collided on Route 117 near the village.

Oxford County Deputy Justin Brown said Dale Bennett, 20, of Buckfield was crossing the highway almost in front of his house when a motorcycle driven by a Massachusetts man came over a knoll and the two collided.

The identity of the motorcyclist could not be confirmed late Friday night, Brown said.

Neither man was wearing a helmet, he said, and both suffered serious head injuries. Both were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where information on their conditions was not available late Friday.

The ATV and motorcycle, both Hondas, were damaged.

Assisting Brown was Deputy Brian Landis, along with LifeFlight helicopter, Turner Rescue, Buckfield Rescue and Buckfield Fire Department.
