BANGOR – The wedding of Marie Lynn Cookson and Lyle James Wheeler was held at noon on Nov. 15 at the Spectacular Event Center. Pastor Michael Libby officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Wheeler is the daughter of Edward and Laurie Cookson of Kenduskeag. Mr. Wheeler is the son of Lyle K. and Janet Wheeler of Sabattus.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white gown with fitted bodice, halter top, Cathedral train and intricately beaded throughout. She carried a bouquet of white roses with the tips dyed blue, with deep blue delphiniums and white stephanotis with a pearl placed in the center of each.

A sister of the bride, Monica Cookson, served as honor attendant and bridesmaids were Joy Speed and Liza Rienhardt, friends of the bride, and Jill Cookson, sister of the bride. Cierria Cookson, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.

Marc Thibault, friend of the bridegroom, performed the duties of best man and ushers were Steve Labonte and Darren Collins, friends of the bridegroom, and Randy Wheeler, brother of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at the Spectacular Event Center, after which the couple traveled to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. They are residing in Bradford.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Central High School in Corinth and a 2003 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in special education. She is a special education teacher at Morrison Middle School in Corinth.

The bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of Oak Hill High School in Wales and a 2003 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science. He is a self-employed painting contractor.
