SABATTUS – Charles P. Chamberlain Jr., 83, formerly of 37 Louise St., Auburn and Town and Country Village in Lisbon, crossed over on Sept. 6, at the home of his daughter, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Lewiston, May 23, 1921, the son of Charles Sr. and Sadie (Nixon) Chamberlain, he was a motorcycle enthusiast, having ridden all over the U.S. with Dottie on the back of his Harley.

He married Dorothy F. Fish on Nov. 19, 1942. Together they raised nine children. He worked for many years at the Bonafide Mill in Lisbon and Diamond Machine, until his retirement.

He was a member of the DAV, VFW, American Legion and the Odd Fellows, where he was a bingo volunteer for many years.

Mr. Chamberlain loved to hunt and fish and was quite famous for his mechanical skills, fixing his buddies’ cars in our cellar for years.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Charles (Billy) W., Virgil (Pete) P. and Kelsie L. Chamberlain; as well as three daughters, Cheryl K. Bachelder, Marilou (Lou) Chamberlain and Mylinda (Myndi) Frechette; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three sons, Brian D., Robin L. and Dana L. Chamberlain.
