LEWISTON – Marie Badeau, a retired state-certified master teacher, will be the guest speaker for the Saints Peter and Paul Society on Sunday, Sept 12. Her presentation will follow the 8 a.m. breakfast meeting in the Dominican Conference Room.

Badeau is a lifelong resident of Lewiston, earning a bachelor’s degree at the University of Maine at Farmington and a master’s degree from the University of Southern Maine. She was a first-grade teacher at Longley School where she implemented a number of programs and mentored numerous teachers-in-training.

In addition to her teaching career, she has served on a number of local committees and has been involved in church and community projects. She was instrumental in organizing the original Franco-American Festival for 10 years and managed the Cafe C’est Si Bon.

She has served as president of the Saints Peter and Paul Parish council and the Ladies of St. Anne, as well as vice president of the Saints Peter and Paul Society. She also served as a religious coordinator and teacher at the parish.

She is vacation Bible school director, secretary of the society and continues to be active in many ways within the parish. She presently tutors adults at the Lewiston Adult Education Program.

Badeau retired last June from the Lewiston School System. She will speak about her many experiences during her 35 years of teaching.
