DIXFIELD – The Neighborly Senior Citizens met on Aug. 18 at the Legion Hall with 84 present.
The meeting was called to order by President Connie Tutlis, who read “Rainbow Heart” by Michael Dubina, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and singing of “God Bless America.”
Observing August birthdays were Paula MacDonald, Nila Martineau and John Bernard. Having an August anniversary were Larry and Edna Kerr, 56 years. Door prizes were won by Priscilla Robinson and Freda Arsenault.
New members are Charlotte Mayo, Evelyn Senkbeil and Paula Englehart. Beano was played following the meeting and dinner. It was announced that Marjorie Harlow will fill in as vice president and Carol Gallant as secretary. They will serve until the end of the year.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15. Neighborly Seniors membership is open to anyone age 50 and over. New members are welcome. Those wishing more information can call Tutlis at 364-4189.
Remaining trips for the year are announced. Space is available on most of the trips.
Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 8 and 9: Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun and Great Cedar.
Tuesday, Sept. 28: Balsams, $32. Bus will pick up Dixfield at 8 a.m. and Mexico at 8:10. Plans include a stop at the shrine in Colebrook.
Tuesday, Oct 5: Fryeburg Fair. Bus will leave Dixfield at 7:30 a.m. and Mexico at 7:40 a.m. It is free.
Monday, Oct. 18: Octoberfest at Indian Head, Lincoln, N.H. The group will celebrate its 35th anniversary with the Al Piner Oom-Paah Band. Cost will be $40 a person or $35 for paid-up members. Bus will leave Dixfield at 8 a.m. and Mexico at 8:10.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 31, Nov. 1, 2, 3: Mystery reunion trip; call Tutlis for prices.
Monday, Dec. 6: Christmas party at Indian Head, $42. Bus will leave Dixfield at 8 a.m. and Mexico at 8:10.
