LEWISTON – Laurette E. Bisson, 82, of 152 Meadowview Park died Wednesday evening, Sept. 8, at d’Youville Pavilion following a long illness.
She was born in Jackman on Nov. 28, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Mathilda (Bisson) St. Laurent and had been a resident of this community since 1924.
She was employed as a spinner in the local textile industry until her retirement.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Ann’s of St. Peter’s Church.
She is survived by her husband, Toussaint Bisson, whom she married on Oct. 11, 1947; one daughter, Mrs. Claude (Claudette) Poulin, two sons, Raymond Bisson and his wife, Lucie, and Roland Bisson and his wife, Jacqueline, all of Lewiston; four sisters, Mrs. Marie Ange Gosselin, of Montreal, P.Q., Mrs. Juliette Morency, of Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Robert (Rita) County, of Exeter, N.H., and Mrs. Maurice (Ida) Carrier, of Lewiston; three brothers, Laurent, Normand and Maurice St. Laurent, all of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Brian Poulin, Michelle, Daniel, Jennifer and Zachary Bisson, all of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Mrs. Aimee Poisson, Mrs. Fernande Levesque and Mrs. Anita Charest, and three brothers Leo, Herve and Harry St. Laurent.
