POLAND – The annual Poland Community Day on Saturday, Sept. 11, will feature an Air Force flyover and an Air Force rock band.

Organizers chose the theme “Freedom Forever” to honor those who protect and serve the country.

The highlight will be a patriotic ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Poland Community School, with speeches and musical performances to show appreciation for the nation’s military personnel and local emergency workers.

The day will start with a 7 a.m. pancake breakfast, catered by local Boy Scouts, with a parade following at 9 a.m. All daytime events will be outside Poland Community School and on Town Hall grounds.

On Friday, Sept. 10, the Busy Bees will host a benefit dinner and talent show from 6 to 8 p.m.

Saturday’s schedule of events:

7-8 a.m.: Pancake breakfast

9-9:45 a.m.: Parade, along Route 26, ending at Poland Community School

10 a.m.: Opening ceremonies

10:20 a.m.: Air Force flyover

10:30-11:30 a.m.: Air Force rock band

10:30-11:30 a.m.: Police canine unit demonstration

11:30 a.m.-noon: Steel drum band

Noon-12:45 p.m.: Magician

Noon-1 p.m. and 1:15-2 p.m.: Game warden

Noon-2 p.m.: Pony rides

1-2 p.m.: Equine demonstration

2-3 p.m.: Clowns, Jinx and DeeDee

3-5 p.m.: Punk rock band, Pozer

(Evening events are hosted at Poland Spring Inn grounds and are for Poland residents only.)

6 p.m.: Barbecue by Poland Fire and Rescue Department and Poland Community Church

6:30-8:30 p.m.: Concert
