JAY – Rita Rose Bonnevie, 79, of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Niagara Falls, N.Y., died Thursday morning, Sept. 9, at the home of her sister-in-law, Rita Bonnevie on Rte. 133, Jay, following a long illness.

She was born March 24, 1925, in Lewiston, a daughter of Emil and Isabelle (Perreault) Dussault. She received her education in Jay schools and on Sept. 28, 1946, married Reginald W. Bonnevie at St. Peter’s Church in Lewiston.

A devoted wife and mother, she also was employed for many years as a sales clerk at the Jenss Department Store in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling and when they retired, settled in West Palm Beach, Fla., where she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She was involved in the Senior Citizens Club in New York, and enjoyed her involvement in the Home Ec Club where they worked on craft projects. She also enjoyed her membership in the French Club in both New York, and Florida, and was on a Florida Bocce Ball Team. She always looked forward to their trips north which reunited them with lifelong friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Reginald Bonnevie, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Shirley Millette and her husband, Raymond, and Elaine Polizzi and her husband, Emmanuel “Manny,” all of Brandon, Fla.; one son, David Bonnevie and his wife, Kari, of Lewiston, N.Y.; one sister, Laurianne Bedore and her husband, Warren “Bob,” of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
