I am writing in favor of the referendum set for Sept. 14 regarding the building of a new Lake Street School. The south side of Auburn currently has three schools K-6 and the north side currently has none. If the referendum passes, it will begin the process of having three K-6 schools on the north side of Auburn.

With the expanding of Lake Street, the new building will help with overcrowding in schools on the south side. The expansion is a win-win situation.

State funding is available now, we need to act on it. This funding will be gone if the referendum is voted down. This is a step forward for Auburn, and I hope people help us vote yes on Sept. 14.
