I’m sure it must make the residents of Lewiston-Auburn proud to know that at least one Bates College student has been arrested in New York City and charged with assaulting a police officer and inciting a riot, and that at least one other Bates College/Maine People’s Alliance lemming is there causing trouble. George Soros must be proud!

I am surprised that the Sun Journal hasn’t posted the $20,000 bail to spring the kid out of jail.

Why did we not see these violent and senseless demonstrations at the Democratic National Convention in Boston? Because supporters of President Bush are keenly aware of the fact that we are a country at war, and the violence, betrayals, lies and anti-American political rhetoric perpetrated by antiwar protesters (such as John Kerry) during the Vietnam War era seriously damaged our nation and has had a lasting effect on our honorable Vietnam War veterans (unlike John Kerry) and their families.

At a time when all Americans should pull together and support our mission against Islamic terrorism (Does anybody remember Sept. 11?), the far-left Democrats are seeking to divide this country with a steady stream of vicious attacks on our commander-in-chief, outrageous hypocrisy, political rhetoric, half-truths and lies.

Despite the efforts of Democratic Party cheerleader newspapers, such as the Sun Journal, to bury, suppress and criticize any detractors of the John Kerry political machine, George Bush will win re-election in November because God still loves America.
