I am writing to say that I hope the people of Maine are smart enough not to let these ads against the tax cap scare them. These are just scare tactics, and the people in these ads are the very people that don’t want this to pass because they will have to do what all of us have had to do lately – cut the budget and live with a lot less.

Once this passes, the cities and towns will have to start being more accountable for their spending, something they have never had to do. There is so much waste in these places.

They need to get rid of all the unions, the city managers, the police chiefs to start.

Look at the SUVs and the V-8 cruisers the police departments use. These use so much gas it is ridiculous. Then how many people have seen a firetruck parked at the store? They are there to buy groceries. Why don’t they send one person in their own vehicle to do these errands, instead of wasting our tax dollars?

It is high time that these people are made to cut like so many of us have had to do. Everyone can see waste in our towns and this tax cap will put an end to it. They will have to balance their checkbooks and be accountable for every penny they spend. It is time to make them live with a little less money.
