BOSTON, Mass. – Geraldine Moselle “Geri” Pomerleau, 75, of Hatch Road, Auburn, died peacefully with her family at her side Friday, Sept. 10, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

She was born Jan. 20, 1929, in Mechanic Falls, the daughter of Guy H. and Gladys Edwards. She was educated in Mechanic Falls schools.

Geri married Robert A. Pomerleau on Feb. 2, 1948. Their 56 years of marriage was one of her proudest accomplishments. She worked in several Lewiston-Auburn shoe shops over the years, but her primary role was as a homemaker. In her later years, she worked winters as a greeter in the Wal-Mart in Zephyrhills, Fla.

Bob and Geri spent many summers camping, starting at The Hemlocks in West Poland and later at The Birches in Litchfield. They spent the winters of their retirement years as snowbirds in Dade City, Fla., returning to Maine each spring. Geri was friends with everyone she met and was quick to see the good side of people. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother of seven, grandmother of 11, and great-grandmother of five.

She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Pomerleau Sr., of Auburn; six sons, Ronald W. and Kathy of West Poland, Jerome A. of West Poland, David L. of West Poland, Glen A. and Lynne of West Poland, Charles R. and Rhonda of Bradenton, Fla., and Robert A. Jr. and Terry of West Poland; a daughter, Brenda L. and Robert Keech of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Lovell “Sonny” and his wife, Lorene Edwards, of West Poland; and a special friend, Elly Bennett, of Auburn.

She was predeceased by four sisters, Irene Hunt, Dorothy Matthews, Lorraine Strout, and Frances Pope; and a grandson, Jason Phillips.
