AUBURN – The wedding of Elizabeth Harris Downs and Jeremy Joseph Bennett was held on June 5 at the home of the bridegroom’s parents. The Rev. Bob Carlson officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Bennett is the daughter of Karla and Phil Downs of Auburn. Mr. Bennett is the son of John and Oksana Bennett of Auburn.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown designed by Lazaro with lace bodice, dropped waistline, tiny pearls and crystals throughout and a long train. A headpiece with pearls and crystals supported her veil and she carried a bouquet of purple stranger roses and ivory tulips.

Anna Verrill, friend, was maid of honor and Beckie Sheloske, another friend, was bridesmaid.

Sam Bennett, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man and Steve Downs, brother of the bride, was usher.

A reception followed at the home of the bridegroom’s parents, after which the couple spent three weeks in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. They are residing in Auburn.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Edward Little High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of Montana with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She also received a master’s degree in art in 2002 at the University of Montana. She is a sculptor.

The bridegroom is a 2002 graduate of the University of Montana with a bachelor’s degree in communications. He is employed as a paralegal.
