I know that, with the election coming up, there is a lot of heated debate over the issues. However, I find most of this rhetoric petty and meaningless in light of the tragedy that has taken place in Russia.

My heart aches when I think of those children and their families. I think about what they have suffered, and suddenly the Iraq situation and tax cap pale in comparison. The Swift Boat veterans and MoveOn.org seem ridiculous to me when I look at the bloody faces of terrified children fleeing from inhuman Islamic fascists. One of these children could be my son or daughter. Or yours.

My point is that we have bigger problems than Medicare or unemployment. After all, we won’t need health care or jobs if we’re dead. I think these attacks, and terror attacks all over the world, demonstrate how truly evil these people are and how far they are willing to go. I don’t believe a “sensitive” approach to terror, as Kerry says, is the answer. Who can be sensitive to child murderers? How can you reason with someone who will gladly saw the head from a human being?

I can’t tell anyone how to vote or what to think. However, I think we should all take a moment at the ballot box to think about the reality of terror and its victims. In the war on terror, it’s not just the lives of soldiers at stake, it’s the lives of ordinary Americans. Like me. Like you.
