LEWISTON – Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops in Abnaki District will soon begin their All Out for Scouting fall recruitment drive.

Most area scouting units will hold sign-up nights and open houses on or around Tuesday, Sept. 14, and Thursday, Sept. 16. In the next couple of weeks information will be distributed in schools across Androscoggin and Oxford counties letting potential Scouts and their families know how to get involved and where to sign up.

“There aren’t many programs out there that give young people the same extended variety of activities to try, skills to learn and values which are instilled as does scouting,” said Abnaki District Executive Matt Mower.

To get involved in scouting, watch for the flier with a local pack and troop sign-up information or contact Mower at 797-5252, ext. 33, or [email protected].

Abnaki District services the traditional programs of Cub Scouting, for boys in first through fifth grade; Boy Scouting, for boys age 11 through 17; and Venturing, for young men and women age 14 through 20, in most of Androscoggin and Oxford counties.
