Kathleen Dougherty is the Democrat running for the Maine House of Representatives in Otisfield, Oxford and Mechanic Falls.

A Bowdoin College honors graduate and current employee of L.L. Bean, she deserves the support of every voter in the district. Why? She was born, raised and educated in Maine. Unlike so many of the state’s young people who move away after completing high school, Kathleen chose to stay home. Instead of dreams of greener pastures elsewhere, she knows that Maine is where she belongs and wants to contribute.

Dougherty is part of a long political tradition that includes George Mitchell and Bill Cohen, Bowdoin graduates, who served the state and nation with distinction, and Margaret Chase Smith, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, great women legislators.

I support Kathleen Dougherty, who is an outstanding young Maine citizen who has made a commitment to stay in the state and contribute to its welfare.
