WEST PARIS – Audrey M. (Chase) Hadley, 77, of West Paris, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Ledgeview Living Center.

She was born in West Paris on July 24, 1927, the daughter of Reynold E. and Marjorie O. (Farr) Chase and was educated in West Paris schools. She had worked as a store clerk at Chase’s General Store, working with her father, and at the National Co-Op, retiring in 1992.

She was a member of the West Paris Grange 298, the West Paris Universalist Church and was a charter member of the West Paris Historical Society.

She married Maurice L. Hadley on Nov. 11, 1944, they were divorced in 1970, and remained friends ever since.

She is survived by one daughter, Carmen J. Hadley, of West Paris; one son, Roger E. Hadley, of West Paris; three grandchildren, Dr. Deborah Hadley and her husband, Greg Bowman. of Waltham, Mass., Andrew Hadley, of New York, and Ryan Hadley, of Ellsworth; a sister-in-law, DeDe Chase, of West Paris; her former husband, Maurice Hadley, of West Paris; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, and a brother, Everett W. Chase.
