WATERVILLE (AP) – No charges will be filed against three teenagers who allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail and burned down a Waterville house this summer.

Kennebec County District Attorney Evert Fowle said the three youths did not intentionally destroy the Forest Park house and tried to put the fire out when it spread.

The teenage boys, who were not identified, will do community service work, undergo counseling and pay some restitution, Fowle said.

Fire officials said at the time of the July 13 incident that the youths were trying to see how a Molotov cocktail worked, so they threw one into the garage.

About 30 firefighters worked to put out the blaze.
