FARMINGTON – SAD 9 Adult Education program contract bridge classes will begin the week of Sept. 27. Those interested should call 778-3460 to register.

The classes offer the opportunity to meet bridge players who are on similar levels, to learn the fundamentals in understandable terms and to learn the aspects of the game. Each level will include eight lessons.

There will be three levels offered this year:

• Monday, Sept. 27: Introducing the Beginner to Game of Bridge. The class will include the basics and the mechanics of the game, including bidding, scoring, responding to the bids, penalty doubles and the play of the hand.

• Tuesday, Sept. 28: Improving Your Game. For those who have played bridge before, the lessons will give tips and hints that can make them a better player. They will learn various techniques by working with sample hands in class. The lessons will improve knowledge about when to bid and how high to go. Each lesson will offer an opportunity to practice by the actual playing of the game.

• Thursday, Sept. 30: Advanced Players. The class will review problem areas. It will include supervised play of difficult hands and time to play the game.
