LEWISTON – The HealthSteps Adult Fitness Program at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center will offer Exercise 101 this fall. The three-month program is designed to give participants the individual attention they need to help reach fitness goals.

Participants will go through a series of evaluations at the beginning and end of the program. Evaluations will include testing for cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, flexibility, body composition, girth measurements, blood pressure, total cholesterol and HDL.

They will receive a computer-generated report of results. Each participant will start the program with an orientation to the state-of-the-art strength and cardiovascular equipment.

Ongoing monitoring and follow-ups will be provided to allow participants to work out safely and effectively as well as achieve maximum benefit. Graduation from the program will include re-evaluation and a plan for continued exercise.

The class will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Sept. 20 through Dec. 10. at the Trolley Building, 77 Bates St. The instructor will be Missy Bilodeau, nationally certified athletic trainer. Cost is $100.
