GREENWOOD – The date for a town meeting to consider the recall of Selectman Ivan Roberts will be set at a special selectmen’s meeting tonight, according to Town Manager Kim Sparks.

Sparks said the selectmen will discuss only the town meeting date, so the meeting should be brief.

On Sept. 7, the board officially accepted a petition asking that Roberts be recalled. The document held the signatures of 65 registered voters and met the requirements of the town’s recall ordinance.

According to the ordinance, a town meeting must be held within 60 days of the selectmen’s accepting an approved recall petition.

The selectmen will meet at 5 p.m. in the Greenwood town office.
