DIXFIELD – Rep. Randy Hotham of Dixfield has announced his re-election bid to the Maine Legislature from District 93, which now includes the towns of Dixfield, Mexico, Peru, Canton and Carthage.

Hotham has just completed his first term in the Legislature. He was elected chairman of the freshman caucus by his colleagues.

During his term, Hotham served on the Legal and Veterans Affairs Committee and fought to maintain veterans’ benefits and services. He also worked to promote sportsmen’s rights. He co-sponsored legislation that created Pine Tree Zones and urged passage of legislation and funding to support job growth, business opportunities and job skill development.

Hotham graduated from Rumford High School and studied business at the University of Southern Maine.

He lives in Dixfield with his wife, Patricia, and his daughter, Kimberly. Hotham serves on the Board of Directors of the Joseph P. Derouche Advanced Technology Development Center, the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition, and the Advisory Board for Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

Hotham is a 20-year employee of MeadWestvaco Corp. in Rumford, where he began working on paper machines for Boise Cascade and was a member of Local 900. He currently works as a service representative in support of sales and marketing.
