AUBURN – Kristin Keene notched a pair of goals as Edward Little remained undefeated with a 2-0 victory over Brunswick in Class A field hockey action Friday.

Keene capitalized on a Katie Bonney pass off a corner to stake the Red Eddies (5-0) to a 1-0 halftime lead and then scored on a penalty stroke in the second half.

Sarah Wyman stopped 23 shots for the Dragons (0-5) while Katie Ouellette made eight saves in collecting the win.

Poland 2, Waynflete 1

PORTLAND – Chelsea Gerard and Brittnay Copp scored two late goals to lift Poland over Waynflete 2-1 Friday afternoon.

Jessie Hodgkiss assisted on Gerard’s goal to tie the game at one. Chelsea Smith tallied the lone goal for the Flyers.

Liz Lane was solid in net for the Knights, stopping three of the four shots she faced. Amanda Chance stopped 13 Poland shots.

Lisbon 4, Georges Valley 0

THOMASTON – Kelly Campbell drilled a pair of first-half goals to lead Lisbon to a 4-1 win over Georges Valley in field hockey play Friday.

Campbell took a pass from her sister, Kim, blasting it past the outstretched arms of Amanda Powell early in the first half for the only goal the Greyhounds (4-5-1) would need. Bethany Williams and Kristen Laffley combined in goal to record the shutout victory.

Erica Meritt, and Emily Poloquin added a goal apiece in the second half to seal the win.

Livermore Falls 6, Dirigo 1

LIVERMORE FALLS – Erica Gats and Kelsey Biliouris both scored a pair of second-half goals to help Livermore Falls down Dirigo 6-1 in field hockey Friday.

Taryn Flagg assisted on the first two Andies’ goals to break open a scoreless game. Danielle Therrien and Valen Richard also scored for the Andies (5-1).

Nikki Kaulback netted the lone goal for Dirigo (0-6). Dani Tomkins turned aside 34 shots in the loss.

St. Dom’s 2, North Yarmouth 0

AUBURN – Michela Fyler tallied a goal and an assist to lead St. Dom’s past North Yarmouth 2-0 Friday.

Fyler assisted on a first-half score by Becky Lewis and converted a feed from Elisha Dorso for the insurance score midway into the second half.

Sarah Holden made nine saves for the Panthers (4-1-1) while Elizabeth Bennett turned back nine shots for the Saints (4-1).

Winthrop 2, Telstar 2

BETHEL – Danna Wilson’s goal with just 3:21 remaining in regulation helped Telstar salvage a 2-2 tie with Winthrop in field hockey action Friday.

Liz Rosenberg collected a penalty corner pass at the top of the circle and sent the ball to Wilson on the left side. Wilson fired the ball past Winthrop keeper Keltie Mullen (15 saves).

Elyse Cole and Kenzie Demkowicz scored for the Ramblers while Chea Davis netted the other goal for the Rebels (4-1-1). Stephanie Tripp and Heather Gionet combined for 10 saves between the pipes for Telstar.

Soccer

Erskine Academy 3, Oak Hill 1

SOUTH CHINA – Mariah Gleaton converted a pass from Chelsea Colby 14 minutes into the first half to propel Erskine Academy to a 3-0 win over Oak Hill in KVAC girls’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

Erin Corey added a pair of first-half goals in the win.

Angie Russell converted a crossing pass from Amber Damon in the second half to avoid the shutout.

Maranacook 2, Belfast 0

READFIELD – Jackie Mrazik scored the eventual game-winner at the 30:27 mark of the first half to lead Maranacook to a 2-0 win over Belfast in KVAC girls’ soccer action Friday.

The Black Bears (4-0-1) held on to their undefeated status with superb defensive efforts from fullbacks Emma Prysunka, Collyn Baeder and Shannon Bean. Allison Meyer added a comfort goal with just 1:47 left in regulation.

Brittany Harrington was busy in goal for the Lions (4-1-0) with 15 saves, while Melissa Piper secured the win for Maranacook with five turn backs.

Boys’ soccer

Erskine 2, Oak Hill 1

WALES – Clint Peterson broke out of a scramble in front of the Oak Hill net and booted the game-winning shot just past the Raiders’ keeper to lift Erskine Academy to a 2-1 win over Oak Hill in KVAC soccer Friday.

Mike Coteuir rounded out the scoring for the Eagles with a first-half goal.

Telstar 2, Hall-Dale 1

BETHEL – Ross Parker found the back of the net with an unassisted goal late in the second half to lift Telstar to a 2-1 win over Hall-Dale in MVC soccer action Friday.

Matt Zinchuk converted a feed from Kevin Zinchuk at 33:13 of the second half for the first goal of the game.

The Bulldogs (3-1-1) answered with an unassisted goal by Dan Voner, setting the stage for Parker’s game-winner.

Terry Collins registered the win in goal for the Rebels (2-2) with six saves.

Jay 0, Lisbon 0

JAY – Jay and Lisbon battled to a 0-0 stalemate in MVC soccer action Friday as Mike Wilkins made 35 saves for the Greyhounds and Shane Bourgault turned back 23 shots to preserve the tie.

St. Dom’s 3, Sacopee 2

AUBURN – Josh Hixon scored the tiebreaker and game-winner 21:28 into the second half as St. Dom’s edged Sacopee Valley, 3-2, in boys’ soccer action Friday.

The Saints (3-2) received scoring support from T.J. Ustach and Narcissie Agounke with first-half goals. Brandon Fenderson notched an unassisted goal and Noah Delea connected for a penalty kick to send the Hawks (0-3) into the break with a 2-2 tie.

Evan Ouellette had five saves for Sacopee, while Ryan Gilbert knocked away a pair for St. Dom’s.
