The front-page story Sept. 12 titled “Wounds of war” was heart wrenching. Post traumatic stress syndrome is a problem not only for the veteran but also for the family, friends and co-workers.
My sister wrote “Recovering from the War” in 1990 in response to the PTSD crisis in families after Vietnam. Her name is Patience H. C. Mason. I feel it would be as helpful to families, friends and professionals now, as it has been in the last 14 years.
No one should have to go through this hell alone.
