LEWISTON – The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce and The Board Network will present a four-hour, comprehensive board training Wednesday, Sept. 22, on “Great Meetings! Great Results!”
The workshop will provide tips for improving the efficiency of board meetings and, in turn, improving board morale and participation. Participants will learn the skills needed to run productive meetings, at both the board and committee level.
The training will cover skills such as: developing clear purpose statements and desired outcomes for meetings, designing agendas that increase involvement, understanding the facilitator’s role and managing multiple roles in a meeting.
Participants will receive a copy of “Great Meetings! How to Facilitate Like a Pro” by Dee Kelsey and Pam Plumb.
Laurie Davis will present the training. A senior training and organization development specialist at Maine Medical Center, Davis has facilitated strategic planning meetings for nonprofit boards throughout Maine.
The Board Network is a Maine organization that seeks to build stronger nonprofit boards of directors.
The session will be in Room 170, Lewiston-Auburn College, 51 Westminister St. A continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. will be followed by the training from 8 a.m. to noon. Registration is $85 per person and $65 for additional people from the same board.
