HARRISON – A Harrison woman apparently suffered a physical ailment Friday afternoon while driving on Route 35, causing her car to go off the highway and hit a house, a deputy said.
Jennifer Fleck, 66, was traveling north alone at 3 p.m. when her car left the road, went several hundred feet across a field and hit the residence of Beverly Kosiva at 357 Naples Road, Cumberland County Deputy Anthony Hovey said. Route 35 is also known as Naples Road.
The accident was apparently caused by a medical condition Fleck had, he said.
She was taken by PACE ambulance to a hospital, but Hovey did not know which one. A nursing supervisor at Bridgton Hospital, the closest to the accident scene, said Fleck was not there Saturday.
Kosiva, who was home at the time, was not hurt, Hovey said, but her home was damaged. Fleck’s 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue had substantial damage, he said.
Assisting him at the scene was Cumberland County Deputy Paul Pettengill.
