WINTHROP – Winthrop Grange 209 will hold an open meeting for installation of officers on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Grange Hall, Old Lewiston Road. The hall is handicapped accessible. Jeanne Burnham of Saco Grange 53 and her installing suite will perform the ceremony. Refreshments will be served by Leslie Gilman.

Heart presentation

LEWISTON – Dr. Frances A. DeRook, cardiologist at the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, will present “Lifestyle Modifications for the Management of Heart Failure” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Marshwood Center for Health Care, 33 Roger St. Refreshments will be served. KC Auxiliary

LEWISTON – The Holy Cross Council 12652, Knights of Columbus, Auxiliary will resume meetings at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the church hall. New members are welcome.

AUBURN – Installation of officers will be observed at Danville Junction Grange 65 on Thursday, Sept. 23, with a supper served at 6 p.m. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. Officers will be installed by State Pomona Victoria Huff and her team from York County. All members and guests are welcome.

Hymn sing

AUBURN – Marston’s Corner Baptist Church, which this month is celebrating its 192nd anniversary, will hold the annual hymn sing at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the church, corner of Beech Hill Road and Hotel Road. Seniors trip

MONMOUTH – The Golden Age Club will take its annual foliage trip on Saturday, Oct. 9. For reservations, call Wes Johnson at 933-2228 or Thelda Howe at 933-4171 as early as possible.

Bridge play

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Sept. 14 at the Multi-Purpose Center.

Flight A winners were: first, David Lock and Lucille Theriault; second, Jeanine Kivus and Martine Begert; third, Nancy Lindgren and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Anna Vitiello and Marguerite Zahoruiko; fifth, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau. Flight B winners were: first, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau; second, Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements.

Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Multi-Purpose Center. A partner is guaranteed.

The club also met on Sept. 15 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: first, Luke Merry and Paul Barber; second, Bruce Murray and Lucille Theriault; third, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Ray Sirois and John Hackett.

Another game will be played at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Schooner Estates.
