AUBURN – Albert W. Milasauskis Sr., 89, formerly of 195 Russell St., Lewiston, died Saturday, Sept. 18, with his family at this side at the Odd Fellows Nursing Home, where he had been a resident for the past four years.

Born in Nashua, N.H., on March 25, 1915, he was the son of William V. and Emilia (Miskauskas) Milasauskas. He moved with his family to Lewiston at a young age and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 36.

In November of 1939, he was married to the former Gloria Ida Cloutier, who passed away on Feb. 13, 1991. During World War II he worked for BIW at the South Portland Shipyard, and he was employed for many years in the local textile industry, including as a foreman for Bates Manufacturing.

A member of St. Patrick’s Parish, he was a past president and member of the board of Lewiston Senior Citizens, and was also a former member of the Lithuanian Society of Lewiston. An avid coin collector, he was also a member of the Maine Numismatic Association.

Survivors include a son, Albert Jr. and wife, Louise, of Gorham; two daughters, Brenda and husband, Edward Rivet Sr., of Lewiston and Nancy and husband, Wayne Sherman, of Saco; eight grandchildren, Wayne Rivet and wife, Susan, David Rivet and wife, Maria, Edward Rivet Jr., Kelly and husband, Josh Littlefield, William Milasauskis, Jonathan Sherman and wife, Sonia, Kristen and husband, Daniel Donahue, and Kathryn Sherman; seven great-grandchildren, Melissa, Kimberly, Matthew, Joshua, Nathan, Alex, and, as he was leaving us, a new great-grandson was being born, Timothy Matthew Donahue; a special friend, Cecile Paradis, of Auburn; and by his “other family,” all the wonderful staff at the Odd Fellows Home who took such good care of him these past four years.

He was predeceased by a great-grandson, Steven Rivet.
