The following are to be arraigned on Oct. 5 in Rumford District Court:

• David Ryerson, 24, of Mexico, on a warrant for failure to pay restitution on a charge of theft, on Aug. 31. He was taken to Oxford County Jail in Paris.

• Sean Merrill, 36, of Mexico, on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of assault, on Aug. 30. He was taken to Oxford County Jail.

• Keith Conant, 26, of Rumford, on warrants for probation revocation and failure to appear, on Aug. 28. He was also summoned for possession of a usable amount of marijuana. Bail was denied and he was taken to Oxford County Jail.

The following are to be arraigned on Nov. 2 in Rumford District Court:

• Charles M. Garrett, 58, of Engelwood, Fla., on a charge of domestic assault, at 12:55 a.m. on Sept. 17. He was released on $250 unsecured bail.

• Robert W. Gallant, 50, of Peru, on charges of operating under the influence, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, refusal to submit to arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unnecessary brake/acceleration noise, at on Sept. 16. He failed to post $400 cash bail and was transported to Oxford County Jail in Paris.

• Denis J. Diconzo, 48, of Rumford, on a charge of operating under the influence, at 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 12. He was released on $400 unsecured bail.

Incidents

• Aug. 27, 8:30 a.m. – A Route 108 resident reported that his 14-foot aluminum boat was missing. The boat, which had been placed “well up off the bank,” was last seen sometime this spring.

• Aug. 27, 6:45 p.m. – A Hannaford employee reported that a young woman had been detained at the grocery store for shoplifting. Ryan Dyment, 19, of Mexico, was charged with theft, for reportedly taking three bottles of liquor. She was also summoned on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Sept. 3 – A small amount of marijuana was seized at a Waldo Street residence after a search warrant was presented. Charges are pending.

• Sept. 6, 11 a.m. – Someone reported that the Veterans Memorial Bridge dedication plaque on the Rumford side of the Androscoggin River on Railroad Street had been stolen. The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion paid for two such plaques at $1,000 each, for each end of the bridge. It was unknown when the plaque was stolen, but it has been missing since Sept. 2.

• Sept 7, 7:30 a.m. – An officer on patrol spotted a 1990 Mazda sedan with a broken windshield and a rock on the hood at a Maine Avenue residence. Further investigation revealed that a possible suspect was wanted by police on another matter. The case is still open.

• Sept. 7 – A Rumford resident reported that a sexual assault incident had occurred at a Route 2 residence sometime between Aug. 22 and 28. Detective Lt. Wayne Gallant is investigating.

• Sept. 6, 9:45 p.m. – A Rumford resident reported that three magnetic yellow ribbons in support of troops were stolen from the rear of her vehicle while it was parked on Hancock Street.

• Sept. 8, 11 a.m. – A Route 2 resident reported that his home had been broken into on Sept. 7, but nothing appeared to have been stolen.

• Sept. 9 – A Pine Street resident reported a theft of medication from a residence.

Summonses

• Tracy Howard, 32, of Mexico, on a charge of violation of a protection-from-harassment order, on Aug. 27. He is to be arraigned on Oct. 5 in Rumford District Court.

• A 15-year-old Rumford boy, on a charge of operating without a license, on Aug. 27. His father was also charged with allowing illegal operation of a motor vehicle. Both are to appear at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 26 in Rumford District Court.

The following are to be arraigned on Nov. 2 in Rumford District Court:

• A 16-year-old Rumford boy, on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 10 at Mountain Valley High School, for punching out a safety glass window. School officials also placed the youth on a 10-day suspension.

• Albert F. Hewins, 19, of Leeds, on a charge of illegal transportation of liquor, on Sept. 9 at a 1 a.m. police roadblock detail on Lincoln Avenue.

• Peggy Pulk, 37, of Mexico, on a charge of passing a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing, at 2:52 p.m. on Sept. 2 on Hancock Street.

• Robert Farrington, 46, of Rumford, on a charge of operating under the influence, at 9:58 p.m. on Sept. 1 on Maple Street.
