LEWISTON – Cyrus Bernard Baker, 83, a former resident of Gamage Avenue, Auburn, and for the last four years a patient at Marshwood Center for Health and Rehabilitation, died there early Monday, Sept. 20, following a brief illness.

He was born in Lewiston Sept. 26, 1920, the son of Joseph and Molly (Miller) Baker. Mr. Baker was employed for many years by Seltzer and Rydholm Bottling Co., and was a member of Congregation Beth Abraham. He enjoyed the interest of watching TV, taking long car rides and going out to eat.

He spent many pleasurable hours taking long walks about town and enjoyed conversations keeping up on local news and the weather. He also very much enjoyed spending time at the Auburn Post office helping his friends, Tom and Joe. He had a big heart, was very caring and kind and was always looking to lend a helping hand.

Survivors include a very special friend and his legal guardian, Joseph W. Marsden and his companion, Jean of Auburn, who will miss Mr. Baker very much; and three cousins, Stanley Miller of Tustin, Calif., Joseph Miller of Rockville, Md., and Judith Berman of Georgia.
