RUMFORD – The Greater Rumford Community Center announces it is taking sign-ups for gymnastics, dance and rythmatic gymnastics.
Dance will be taught by Billie Jo Lawton, who has danced for 10 years under the direction of Nancy Mallory with Fred Walton, Bob Rizzo and Julie O’Connell. Dance classes will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at various times, depending on the age and talent of the dancer. Ballet, tap, hip hop and jazz will be offered.
Rythmatic gymnastics will be taught on Thursdays, offered for the first year under the direction of Lawton and Louanne Thibodeau. It offers dance and gym combination with the ball, ribbon and hoop.
Regular gymnastics will be taught by Sue Everett, Thibodeau and other past gymnastic coaches. Everett did gymnastics for many years at the center under the direction of Ron Ashworth, as has Thibodeau, who has run the center program and the Mountain Valley High School gymnastics program for 11 years. Regular gym will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays for one hour.
Competition gymnastics will be taught by Thibodeau, Everett and past gymnastics coaches and will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays according to level and age groups.
