LIVERMORE – Charity Rebekah Lodge of Livermore Falls will host a reception honoring District Deputy President Frances Berry and Deputy Marshal Betty Harriman on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the lodge’s hall, the Ralph Wright Memorial Building at 284 Federal Road. The reception will follow the regular 1:30 p.m. meeting. Officers will be elected. Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m. Betty Mitchell and Laura Maxwell are the hostesses.

Kids ID program

FARMINGTON – The 15th District Masonic Association of the Grand Lodge of Maine will sponsor a Child’s Identification Program from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the Farmington Fair in the old secretary’s office. It will include updates and tooth impressions.

LIVERMORE FALLS – Residents of Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls are invited to a discussion on the development of a Resource and Preparedness Guide to be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the former upstairs courtroom at the Livermore Falls Town Hall. FARMINGTON – First rehearsals for Continental Harmony Community Chorus’, Songs and Stories form the Foothills, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church. First-time and experienced singers, adults and youths grades 4 and up, are welcome. The Continental Harmony Youth Chorus’s first rehearsal will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church. The youth chorus is open to youths in grades 4 to 8. Weekly rehearsals for both choruses will alternate between the church and Jay-Niles Library in North Jay. Concerts will be held in Jay, Rumford and Strong on Nov. 19-21. Financial course

FARMINGTON – Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community will offer a 12-week class, titled “Credit When Credit is Due,” from noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays starting Sept. 27 and ending Dec. 13, in Farmington. The course is a 12-chapter financial literacy program that can help a participant build or repair their credit and learn about budgeting, credit management, home and car buying, borrowing and bankruptcy. The workshop can be done as self-study or by attending weekly study groups. It is offered in partnership with Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Maine. There is no fee for participants. FARMINGTON – Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community will offer a 10-week Career Life Planning class to be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays starting Sept. 28 and ending Nov. 30. In this training, participants will identify their personal values and learn how they can express them in their career, review their skills, interests and experiences and match them to career and job options. In part two of the training, they will learn how to write a resume, interview with confidence, and conduct a winning job search. The first part, on career exploration, will be held from Sept. 28 to Nov. 2. The second part, on job search skills, will be held from Nov. 9 to 30. Participants may take either part, or both. Clinic adds services

FARMINGTON – Franklin Memorial Hospital has expanded its cardiology clinic services. According to Taffy Davis, FMH outpatient and oncology manager, Dr. Francis DeRook will provide cardiology consulting services at the hospital on the first and third Mondays of each month starting Oct. 4. DeRook practices diagnostic cardiology with a special emphasis on congestive heart failure and the subspecialty of cardiac imaging, including ultrasound or echocardiology and nuclear cardiology at the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, a division of Central Maine Medical Center. Make Tracks’ walk

FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will hold its annual walk-a-thon, Make Tracks for Kids, on Saturday, Oct. 16, starting at Kineowatha Park in Wilton. Teams are being formed to participate in it. The money raised helps local children through programs offered by the task force. Participants choose to walk 1.5 or 5 miles. Registration begins at 8 a.m.; followed by the walk at 9 a.m. People who raise $25 or more will have their name entered in a drawing for prizes donated by local businesses. Apple festival

FARMINGTON – The Fairbanks School Neighborhood Association will hold an apple festival on Oct. 16 at the school site on Route 4. Donations are needed and apple-related items for a white elephant table. Items such as apple trinkets, peelers, books or tablecloths are being sought. The festival will have a cider making demonstration and cider for all, plus other demonstrations and pie contest. All proceeds will be used for rebuilding the Fairbanks School, which burned in 1998.
