A new machine for attacking cancer with radium – a device which brings multiple beams of radiation to bear on a malignancy – was announce today. A team of researchers of New York’s Roosevelt Hospital said the device offers advantages, in certain cases, over previous methods of attacking deep-seated cancers with radiation.

A dispute over lobster size limits is a major element in the latest fishing boundary wrangle between Maine and New Hampshire, Maine officials indicated Friday. New Hampshire fishermen are allowed to keep smaller lobsters than their Maine counterparts, and that infuriates the Maine side. “They can just come along and pick-up the lobsters that our fishermen are throwing back,” said Donald D. McIntosh, chief of Maine’s coastal warden service.
“I would hope New Hampshire would raise its legal limit so that it will be in conformity with Maine and Massachusetts.” Gov. Joseph E. Brennan told a news conference.
