LEWISTON – Esther E. O’ Connell, 81, of 102 Campus Ave., went to be with the Lord, following a long illness, on Monday, Sept. 20, at d’Youville Pavilion with her family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston on June 27, 1923, the daughter of George and Margaret (Healy) Clark and had been a resident of this community for all of her life.
She was the widow of Edward O’ Connell who died in 1989.
She worked for many years as a floor lady at Shapiro Shoe Co. and was also a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.
She was a great friend to everyone and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Fournier and her husband, Normand, of Lewiston and Nancy York, of Lisbon Falls; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Bruce Clark and his wife, Anita, of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by her son, Gary O’ Connell, her sister, Mary Clark, and two brothers, Bernard and George Clark.
