PARIS – Shirley S. Miller will lead the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Sept. 26, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. The music will be by Forest Perkins, church organist, playing the church’s historic M. P. Moller Pipe Organ. The organ voluntaries will begin at 9:50 a.m. and will include a recently rediscovered and published organ work by Felix Mendelssohn titled “Andante in D.” The musical meditation will be a medley of favorite hymns.
The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. The First Universalist Church of South Paris is now in its second century of service and ministry. Everyone is welcome.
Birthing class
BRIDGTON – In response to requests from mothers-to-be for a condensed version of the usual eight-week childbirth class, Bridgton Hospital will offer an eight-hour, one-day session.
The class will be offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, and includes lunch. Fee is $30 a person or $60 a couple, which is usually covered by health care insurance.
The class focuses on the process of labor, delivery, Cesarean birth, pain relief in labor and relaxation. It will be taught by Judy Barlow, RN, certified childbirth educator. The next scheduled class will be offered Nov. 6.

Adoption meeting
PARIS – The Lewiston office of the Department of Health and Human Services will host a public informational meeting on adoption and foster care in South Paris on Thursday, Oct. 28.
