I want to thank Gerrie Nelepovitz for her letter (Sept. 8) on neglected, chained dogs, which reflects my concerns exactly about abused dogs.

I do not understand why anyone would get a dog if its whole life is to be chained to whatever or riding in the back of a truck or sitting and panting in a hot car or living in a cage when it is in the house.

These are cruel people, and I’d be very happy to see laws to prevent things like this happening to our wonderful, loving dogs.
