Maine is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, but according to a recent Sun Journal article, Maine earned an F in college affordability. Annual tuition for the University of Maine has steadily increased. As the mother of a freshman student at UMO, I understand what some parents are going through regarding the difficulty of funding a college education. Some students are completely left out and cannot even attend college after high school due to the lack of financial resources.

Matt Reading, candidate for state representative in Auburn, is committed to making college more accessible for Maine families. It’s time we take an active role in ensuring there will be good jobs and educated workers for Maine’s future. I know Matt will work hard for the future of our community and our economy. He’s an honest young man of impeccable character.
